Hello,

What intrigues you artistically? In what ways do you express yourself? Who partners with you as you explore your arts interests?

At the Rochester Art Center, these are the questions we’re here to help answer. We’re a place for people who are “culturally curious”; people like you who enjoy and love contemporary arts and culture. At RAC we believe in the 4-Cs – curiosity, creativity, collaboration and culture – as the basis of how we understand, support and grow the arts.

We have been working hard over the past year to ensure that our “4-Cs” are activated for our community. RAC has held arts classes, presented exhibitions, led tours, taught video animation to summer campers, opened up community conversations about Mental Health, provided creative space to regional artists and held artist talks and panels about current arts and culture issues. We’ve hosted hundreds of weddings, dinners, cocktail mixers and other social get togethers in our riverside Grand Lobby and treetop Conference Room. We’ve partnered with a variety of organizations including the Rochester Public Library, Rochester Civic Theatre, Mayo Clinic, Rochester Area Foundation, DMC, Mayo Civic Center and various community and corporate partners.

And what do our attendees and members tell us about our offerings and their experiences?

    • Thank you for shedding a light on mental health and helping others understand. Everyone needs the chance to be heard and to get help. – 8th Grade Student visiting Mind Matters
    • As a teen there are many things we struggle with, including mental illnesses, and your exhibit captured the struggle that many people go through every day. I particularly loved the self-image mirror, because it’s really made me think about my own body confidence issues. This (exhibit) really helped a lot of people in my grade, so thank you so much for putting this together. – 9th Grade Student visiting Mind Matters
    • My child made many happy memories here. Great class! – Parent of a 2019 Total Arts Day Camp student
Together with the artists, the RAC has a great impact in this community, bringing more arts and culture to Rochester and helping visitors understand the contemporary art, as well as value of the arts in general. – RAC Volunteer
    • We were proud to host our guests in such a beautiful venue–everything was sparkling clean, the staff was wonderful, and the exhibits provided our guests with conversation topics & endless entertainment. Thank you for providing such a lovely space in my very favorite town.– Bride
