Rochester Art Center (RAC) is pleased to announce a series of artist talks entitled Popular Culture in Art Today. RAC is hosting five Minnesota artists with works in the current exhibition Andy Warhol: Minnesota Goes Pop. This series explores how popular culture is interpreted by contemporary artists and is made possible through a generous donation from the Allen Family Fund.

Join us on April 23 at 2:00PM for a discussion between artist Rory Wakemup and exhibition curator Sheila Dickinson.

Rory Wakemup grew up in Minneapolis then moved to the Lower Sioux Reservation for high school. Part of the Boise Forte band of the Chippewa tribe, he identifies as Anishinabe. Wakemup has an MFA from University of Wisconsin Madison and a BFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts.
