Artist Opportunities
ROOTED: Southeastern Minnesota Exhibition Program
The ROOTED program exemplifies the commitment of Rochester Art Center to be an inclusive and mentoring institution for emerging and mid-career artists living in the eleven counties of Southeastern Minnesota. For the 2022 round, two eligible artists are given the opportunity to have a solo exhibition at the Art Center.
Interested artists must seek and secure funding through the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council (SEMAC) Individual Artists Grant ($3,000 to Emerging Artists and $5,000 to Advancing Artists). Prior to submitting the application to SEMAC, artists must secure written approval from the Rochester Art Center.
While the grant selection is made by a SEMAC jury, the Rochester Art Center provides an info session and individual support during the application process.
Participants are encouraged to check the application sample prior to the info session: https://www.grantinterface.com/Form/Preview?form=708170&urlkey=semac

Exhibitions are typically planned at least one year in advance in collaboration with the artist, curator and staff. Single artist exhibitions are generally developed by invitation only, however Rochester Art Center welcomes short submissions by all artists. Please send a single PDF that includes your resume, website (if available), 3-5 images and a brief artist statement to info@rochesterartcenter.org. We appreciate your interest!
