Pride: An Exhibition of Queer Youth Art

September 24 – October 11, 2021 | Rochester Art Center Grand Lobby

Curated by Esme Graham

In celebration of Rochester Pride, the Rochester Art Center is exhibiting artworks by Queer youth. These artists use their work as a form of self expression in exploring and celebrating their identity.  “For me, pride and my identity in general has always been about being my true authentic self. I try to apply that to every aspect of my life. Art should be about creating something that makes you happy, and being able to find pieces of yourself in it” says artist Laine Sullivan. The artists’ ages range from 11 to 17, and the Art Center is excited to be the first space in which these young artists’ work is shown. The featured artists are Jasper Hanson, Addy Gore, Candy Zickrick, May Zickrick, Angie Zickrick, Lynnea Kelly, Rowan Vercnocke and Laine Sullivan.
