Ayub HajiOmar presents Global Warning and The Most Exquisite Exhibition by Any Living Artist by God ft. Ayub HajiOmar, two larger than life paintings as a preview of his upcoming exhibition, Mercy to the Mankind in Studio West Gallery, from November 18 – March 14 as part of the ROOTED: Southeastern Minnesota Artist Exhibition Program at Rochester Art Center.
About the two artworks:
Both artworks consist of a series of paintings displayed in a diamond shaped grid, centered around one large painting in the middle. Each painting one clearly depicted object or element with a quote in Arabic from Quran related to each image. The themes of the two paintings intertwine the deep interrelationships people have to each other and the earth. HajiOmar writes, “Since I was a child, I was learning a language to which I never understood the words. I felt like a blind man learning about colors. Since I was a child, I have traveled all around the world & experienced the beauty of it. I wanted to share that with the viewer.”
Ayub HajiOmar is an Islamic Contemporary Fine Artist. He is a Muslim, Somali-American living in Rochester Minnesota. He has been painting for more than 10 years and is currently studying Painting at Winona State University.
