Rochester Art Center (RAC) is pleased to announce a series of artist talks entitled Popular Culture in Art Today. RAC is hosting five Minnesota artists with works in the current exhibition Andy Warhol: Minnesota Goes Pop. This series explores how popular culture is interpreted by contemporary artists and is made possible through a generous donation from the Allen Family Fund.

Frank Gaard received his BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1967 and MFA at California College Art, Oakland in 1968. He was associate professor at Minneapolis College of Art and Design, 1969-87. He has had three solo exhibitions at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and two at Walker Art Center and has work in the permanent collections of both

Dr. Sheila Dickinson is currently a guest curator at Rochester Art Center. She has taught modern and contemporary art history for fifteen years, writes regularly for Hyperallergic, Artforum and ArtNews. She has a PhD in Art History from University College Dublin.
